"Solar Dust" is the central work of the Ethereal Series — a dreamcatcher suspended in a deep blue field, scattered with fragments of gold. The subject barely touches the physical world: no wall, no window, no horizon, only the object and the atmosphere it floats in. The feathers and the surrounding space are built from thin, translucent glazes that let the canvas glow through, giving the whole image its weightlessness. Against that softness, the flecks of gold are applied as raised, opaque touches of impasto — tiny points where the painting becomes physical again. The woven circle at the center holds the composition the way a held breath holds a moment: nothing moves, and everything is awake.
