 “Closing Time” is not a portrait of five men; it is a visual capture of a specific, universal silence. The composition explores the profound shift in atmosphere that occurs when the workday concludes and the heavy silhouettes gather at the bar, seeking a shared sanctuary.

​ By obscuring facial features and literal details, the work transcends individual identity to focus on a collective exhaustion and quiet camaraderie. Executed in thin, translucent layers of oil rather than heavy texture, the raw canvas is allowed to breathe through the pigment, mirroring the fragile vulnerability of the moment. It is an evocative exploration of anonymity and the shared solitude inherent to city life.
