After Hours
“After Hours” is a soulful highlight of The Blue Series, capturing the intimate echoes of a night in the city. The title refers to that sacred period in jazz culture when the doors are closed to the public, and the music becomes a private, honest conversation.
The composition is built on a sophisticated depth of field: the foreground couple is rendered with rhythmic, sculptural brushstrokes that capture the heat and movement of the dance. Their forms are defined by a warm, golden glow reflecting off the floor, anchoring them in the moment. In contrast, the solitary saxophonist dissolves into a melodic haze of indigo and amber light, representing the fading pulse of the night. This work is a visual study of the tension between public performance and private connection.

The Artist’s Note:
For me, After Hours is about the moment the world stops being a place and becomes a feeling. I wanted to paint the weight of that final dance, where the rhythm of the music is the only thing keeping the morning at bay. The blurred background isn't a lack of detail—it’s how we remember a night when we were truly present in the embrace.
